We met St, Oliver Plunketts in the 2002 Minor Final. This was played as a curtain raiser to the senior final, in which Castletown were playing Lough Lene Gaels. The final score in the minor game was Castletown 2-12 to 0-8. The victory bridged a long gap in the club’s history, as the last time for our club to win the minor championship was in 1968. At that time the juvenile club was known as O’Raghallaighs.
Unfortunately the victory was overshadowed by the defeat of our senior team in the dying seconds of that game. However a source of pride to the mentors of the Minor team was the fact that Joseph Clarke played in both the minor and senior finals.
